Refuge has a year-round manager
The Xalet Refugi Juli Soler i Santaló opened in 1968. Juli Soler i Santaló was a pioneer in hiking, who particularly loved the mountains surrounding this place. In the early twentieth century, he travelled through them and wrote a number of books about them and the Val d’Aran region.
There is a bar and dining room, surrounded by the terrace and garden. It makes an excellent base for hikers, skiers and snowboarders, given that the Baqueira-Beret resort is 4 km away. It is also a good place for unwinding from the stress of city life. You can meet people of all ages (most of our visitors are aged between 27 and 60). The atmosphere is simple and casual; and there is no noise at night, the intention being that everybody should be allowed to rest.
